It's Already June?!

The countdown has officially begun... In T-minus 1 day, I will be finished with my internship (although we're heading to Sharm el Sheikh on Sunday for a few days of rest and relaxation on the Red Sea). It is hard to believe that the year is already over- but what a life-changing year it has been. Like the Israelites long ago, I believe that the Lord brought me to Egypt in order to free me. In a place heavy with spiritual oppression, it didn't take long for me to come face-to-face with my sin and weaknesses; thus, forcing me to recognize my insatiable need for Christ and to cry out for deliverance. God had to break me; refine me with hardships, in order to mold me into the person He created me to be. Through it all, the Lord was right there with me, pouring out His love and mercy and grace on me. It has been such an incredible year, and I feel beyond blessed to have had the opportunity to serve at MCC- and as it turns out, though I will be taking on a new job in a couple of weeks, I will thankfully be able to continue to volunteer with the youth in the coming years.
One of the highlights of my year is definitely when my parents came to visit a couple of weeks ago- It was so refreshing to have them here and show them my life in Cairo- to see them experience a third-world country was just a bonus :) Here are a few of the highlights from their time here:

Sunset in Ain el Sokhna- a little resort on the Red Sea!

On a completely different note... I have had the privilege of being the assistant track and field coach for JV and Varsity at the american school here (Cairo American College). Last week, we packed up and hopped on a plane with 24 of our athletes to go to Paris to compete in an International Schools track meet (ISST conference). There were schools from all over Europe- Paris, London, Frankfurt, Munich, Brussels, Vienna, etc... And believe it or not, WE WON!!!! I was SO proud of our team- they competed so hard and I was blown away by their strength and determination. Here are a few pictures from our time in Paris:
